Celebrating pureness with Waybuloo!

Waybuloo
takes place in the world of Nara,
a land of happiness, laughter and friendship
that’s home to the Piplings.

The four Piplings are happy, loving and caring creatures that are inquisitive and playful: Yojojo is full of fun, he’s mischievous and loves surprises. Lau Lau is creative and thrives when she’s dancing or painting. Nok Tok is practical and inventive, he’s happiest when he’s making things. De Li is thoughtful, caring and loves gardening.

When Piplings experience pure happiness they achieve Buloo and rise gently into the air.

The Piplings practice Yogo, a gentle form of exercise which is similar to yoga. The movements are often inspired by things that the Piplings see in Nara like birds, trees and narabugs.

The ‘Call to Yogo’ happens when the sunlight shines on the coloured crystals of the ancient Yogo machine; it starts to turn and makes a beautiful sound. When Piplings hear this sound they stop what they’re doing and meet in front of the Yogo machine. Lau Lau, De Li, Nok Tok and Yojojo do four Yogo poses at the beginning of each programme and later when the cheebies (children) come to Nara, the Piplings and cheebies repeate the poses together.

Waybuloo is unique in its exploration of emotions and relationships, taking us on a journey through stories of co-operation, friendship and enjoyment.

You can try some of the Yogo poses by downloading the Yogo activity sheet.

Learning to be still - let’s Meditate!

Why is sitting and doing nothing the most difficult, mysterious, joyful, painful, profound, and life-changing thing we can do? Because it is the radical opposite of what we usually do to try to make ourselves happy.

Why stillness?

Stillness is the quiet place inside where the mind doesn’t interfere or confuse you.
Stillness offers a clear connection to your intuition
You know that you are never alone
Stillness allows big problems all of a sudden seem small
Stillness releases any stress and agitation
Simple solutions often arrive easily when resting in stillness
You feel connected to something greater than yourself when experiencing stillness
You nurture yourself and offer your body, mind and soul deep peaceful rest
You feel comfortable being alone with yourself for a while

How to introduce stillness to children in a simple yet fun way:

For children a simple guided meditation that they can relate too in a fun way and totally absorb their imagination into allows for all other things to fall away. They find themselves resting in stillness focused on the theme of the guided mediation. It may be I am calm, I am rested, I am patient, I sleep beautifully or I am safe.

Choose a meditation that appeals to their imagination:

Amy Hamilton’s Indigo Dreaming - Meditations for Children book or audio CD has 49 different meditation stories: Indigo Dreaming: Meditations for Children

Make it fun and short:

You imagine yourself sitting inside a pyramid. The air inside is warm you feel very calm and relaxed and there is no sound. You breathe in and out and feel the quiet in your body. Feel the quiet spread with each breathe until it fills the whole pyramid. It is serene and still. You say in my mind I am quiet ……. I am quiet………I am quiet.

Learning the Chakras!

Chakras are our energy centers. A Chakra is like a spiral of energy, each one relating to the others. Chakra (pronounced sha-kra) is the Sanskrit word for ' wheel '.

If you can imagine the main chakras / energy centres as a set of cogs/wheels, they are rather like the workings of a clock or an engine; each cog /wheel needs to move smoothly and at a similar speed for the clock / engine to work properly.

Thus good health and well being is achieved by a balance of all these energies (or the smooth running of the cogs/wheels). Click here and here to learn more about the chakras.
