Fada Moranga loves Smarties!

“The 8 Colours of Fun”
is an advertising campaign promoting
Smarties chocolates.

Eight children, one for each Smarties colour,
are paired with eight adult artists, commissioned
by Nestle Astralia to create a work of art inspired by their designated colour.

The campaign is still online at Facebook and YouTube. Read on for Blue, Pink, Red, Yellow, Orange, Brown, Purple and Green

The Smarties Facebook page includes a downloadable how-to guide with instructions for a colour-related DIY art project for children.

The campaign was launched with the colour blue, featuring an underwater adventure collaboration between moon-walking Jonathan and singer-songwriter Raymond Wassef. They come up with “Bluewalk”, performed by Raymond’s band, The Ray Man Three.

Ed collaborates with installation artist Mikala Dwyer to create a pink planet,
defying gender stereotypes associated with the colour.

Karina and pop artist Ebony Bizys work together to make
a collage pop up book featuring the world of red

Phebie and spoken artist Bravo Child combine forces
to tell the story of a yellow disco dancing duck.

Samuel works with video artist Justene Williams to put together
a spicy exploration of the colour orange.

Ashleigh and choreographer Dale Pope Click
use the colour brown to inspire an organic dance routine.

Ryan and photographer Thom Kerr Click produce a photograph essay
on cyber punk alien purple disco dancers.

Scarlett and painter Husayein Sami sculpt a large green tree.

Fada Moranga loves Fantastic Toys!

Timothy Haugen, the author

"I love designing and making toys! It allows me to combine all my favorite artistic activities such as sculpting, drawing and sewing.

My career as a toy maker began over 5 years ago making miniature dolls and puppets. Soon after that I discovered the world of plush and quickly became enamored with the awesome cuteness.

My toys seem to bring out the antsy pants feeling of being a kid in a toy store. Whether it may be just a smile or squeals of delight, they make people happy. Inspired by Japanese crafts my kawaii (japanese for super cute) softies are my spin of the indie plush craze.

Each collectible toy is handmade from my original patterns. My soft toys may start as a sketch or just an idea. The process of making a pattern can be at times difficult and may take several attempts to achieve the desired look of a character. Felt is the material I mainly work with. I enjoy felt because its easy to work with and has a long history in the toy industry.

I have imagined a world of sweet forest dwellers that include forest folk, fawns and critters with a playful and whimsical spirit.

Whenever possible I use eco friendly materials to construct my plush. Because some toys have small parts they are best suited for display. They are not recommended for small children. I hope you enjoy my toys as much as I like making them."

Celebrating pureness with Waybuloo!

Waybuloo
takes place in the world of Nara,
a land of happiness, laughter and friendship
that’s home to the Piplings.

The four Piplings are happy, loving and caring creatures that are inquisitive and playful: Yojojo is full of fun, he’s mischievous and loves surprises. Lau Lau is creative and thrives when she’s dancing or painting. Nok Tok is practical and inventive, he’s happiest when he’s making things. De Li is thoughtful, caring and loves gardening.

When Piplings experience pure happiness they achieve Buloo and rise gently into the air.

The Piplings practice Yogo, a gentle form of exercise which is similar to yoga. The movements are often inspired by things that the Piplings see in Nara like birds, trees and narabugs.

The ‘Call to Yogo’ happens when the sunlight shines on the coloured crystals of the ancient Yogo machine; it starts to turn and makes a beautiful sound. When Piplings hear this sound they stop what they’re doing and meet in front of the Yogo machine. Lau Lau, De Li, Nok Tok and Yojojo do four Yogo poses at the beginning of each programme and later when the cheebies (children) come to Nara, the Piplings and cheebies repeate the poses together.

Waybuloo is unique in its exploration of emotions and relationships, taking us on a journey through stories of co-operation, friendship and enjoyment.

You can try some of the Yogo poses by downloading the Yogo activity sheet.
