Fada Moranga loves Fantastic Toys!

Timothy Haugen, the author

"I love designing and making toys! It allows me to combine all my favorite artistic activities such as sculpting, drawing and sewing.

My career as a toy maker began over 5 years ago making miniature dolls and puppets. Soon after that I discovered the world of plush and quickly became enamored with the awesome cuteness.

My toys seem to bring out the antsy pants feeling of being a kid in a toy store. Whether it may be just a smile or squeals of delight, they make people happy. Inspired by Japanese crafts my kawaii (japanese for super cute) softies are my spin of the indie plush craze.

Each collectible toy is handmade from my original patterns. My soft toys may start as a sketch or just an idea. The process of making a pattern can be at times difficult and may take several attempts to achieve the desired look of a character. Felt is the material I mainly work with. I enjoy felt because its easy to work with and has a long history in the toy industry.

I have imagined a world of sweet forest dwellers that include forest folk, fawns and critters with a playful and whimsical spirit.

Whenever possible I use eco friendly materials to construct my plush. Because some toys have small parts they are best suited for display. They are not recommended for small children. I hope you enjoy my toys as much as I like making them."

Give your Inner Child a Kimochi!

Kimochi (KEY.MO.CHEE) means "feeling" in Japanese.

And that's what Kimochis are all about...
Feelings can be mixed and messy...
Kimochis can help!

They are cuddly, educational and interactive toys that help children learn how to identify and express their emotions and helps other people better understand them. Kimochis enable us to learn how to be better communicators and to express our feelings.

A Pink Velvet Christmas!

One day I fell in love with this girl... Velvet!

I also fell in love with her pink blanket...

So Corinne, Velvet’s mommy decided to make me a pillow!

Self portrait, cuddling my new pink pillow made by Corinne

Velvet and Corinne’s Love Story

“I live in London, Ontario. I have a lovely whippet named Velvet Undergrad III. She was given to me from a breeder at an annual dog show in 1997! I believe I was in the right place at the right time. I truly adore the whippet as a pet. I really wanted to have a greyhound, but when I saw the smaller sized sighthound packaged as a whippet...I just could not resist.

In Feb 2005 my whippet Velvet suffered a (multi-focal) Fibro- Cartilagenous Embolism Stroke. When it happened she fell down stairs and could not even move. Her left side was affected; hemi-paresis. Temporarily though!! We were both traumatized by her inability to get up and walk in the very beginning. I rehabilitated her almost non-stop for the next 7 dys. She was shaky & weak, but standing; taking baby steps by the 5th day. She could walk again by 2 wks time. The veterinarian said that Velvet made an amazing recovery, and that most dog owners would have euthan...oh heck, I can't even say that word!

Velvet is no longer able to run really fast like she was used to, she looses her footing. Plus, she has to think of placing her front left paw down for each step she takes. It's kind of sad in a way because she has lost most of her muscle tone and that is why she looks very thin now. Some people think I do not feed her, however, that is clearly the wrong impression because they do not know her health story.I understand the affects of a stroke and how it makes one weak, whether they be a human or dog. Even as a slightly disabled whippet, I still have her with me to love and take care of. Isn't that just the best?”

Celebrating the world of Teletubbies!

The Teletubbies have been around since 1997! They live in a magical world where they have everything they need. They love each other very much and love to share Big Hugs.

Teletubbies love their house (it is called the tubbytronic superdome, but Teletubbies can't say that). The Teletubbies' house is full of tubbytronic technology making all kinds of funny technological noises. The Teletubbies are "at home" with all the tubbytronic technology in their house and operate it with a joy and confidence.

Just as real children relate to other children the Teletubbies love to watch children playing and their television tummies are a gateway between the two worlds.
